In June of 2013, Dr. Dee received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic – Davenport. At graduation, he was honored with PCC’s most coveted prize, the Clinical Excellence Award. The Clinical Excellence Award is presented to the graduating doctor who has demonstrated outstanding service to patients, the college, and the chiropractic profession. Candidates are nominated by clinic faculty and are interviewed by a board of faculty clinicians on quality of patient care, leadership potential, knowledge, skills, and service.
Dr. Dee was also recognized at graduation as one of four finalists for the Palmer College of Chiropractic Philosophy Award, as well as for his service to the school and clinics as a Palmer AHC Rehabilitation Intern, a Physiotherapy Teaching Assistant, and as a Palmer Sports Council member. While at Palmer, Dr. Dee was president of the Palmer Package Club for two years. He was instrumental in transitioning the club into a “for-credit adjusting lab” within the PCC curriculum.
As a practitioner, Dr. Dee’s focus is the restoration of movement. His concentration throughout school and practice has been in rehabilitation, soft tissue work, and the cultivation of sensory awareness through movement. With this aim in mind, Dr. Dee has trained in a unique collection of techniques and methodologies that differentiate him from the typical chiropractor. He is currently Reedsburg’s only Full Body Certified Active Release Technique (ART) practitioner. He trains yearly with the expert faculty of ART and has been Full Body Certified since 2012 and an Ironman sponsor since 2015. Earlier this year, Dr. Dee trained with internationally-renowned therapist and stretching expert, Aaron Mattes, creator of Active Isolated Stretching. Dr. Dee is also one of the only providers in the state certified in the Central Institute of Human Performance’s TMJ technique. He is also highly trained in Graston Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Management, McKenzie MDT, and is one of a handful of practitioners in the state that are extensively trained in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) and Vojta Therapy. Dr. Dee is currently pursuing his NASM – Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) certification and his National Shoe Fit Certification through the IFGEC/The Gait Guys. He will finish his certification for Nutritional Counseling this July.
In his former career, Dr. Dee was a professional actor and has performed in 48 of the 50 United States. He holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Syracuse University, as well as a certificate from the Dell ‘Arte International School of Physical Theatre’s Professional Theatre Training Program. He has performed with a number of professional theatres in Madison since moving to the area in late 2014. This summer, he and his wife and daughter will be performing Eugene Ionesco’s The Lesson, directed by world-renowned physical theatre artists Steve Wasson and Corinne Soum of the White Church Theatre Project in Spring Green.
Dr. Dee lives in Madison with his lovely wife, Gail, his amazing daughter, Fiona, and the newest addition to their family, their French bulldog puppy, Roxie Spicalicious.
