Here at Anderson Chiropractic Clinics, we have many different services to fit your specific needs. Whether you are experiencing back pain, feeling out of alignment, or are just looking to improve your health, we can help.
To assist all of our patients, we offer the following services:
Spinal Manipulations
After our doctors perform a biomechanical exam on our patients, a gentle adjustment may be performed to the spine. There are many different techniques that may be used to manipulate the spinal cord. These adjustments decrease pain, improve healing time, relaxes muscles, and improves range of motion.
Physical Examinations
The purpose of the exam is to determine what exactly is causing your problem and if chiropractic care will help you. If the doctor cannot sufficiently answer both questions, they will refer you to another specialist.
Chiropractic Health Care
We provide several techniques to accommodate any patient’s injury. We also accommodate the comfort levels of individual patients by providing more aggressive approaches and significantly lighter methods. We provide safe and effective spinal corrections to help you overcome aches, pains, numbness, stiffness, auto and sports injuries, work injuries, and arthritis. Chiropractic treatments may also include acupressure, segmental distraction, trigger point therapy, soft tissue therapy, and other pain management modalities including the application of heat or ice.
Pain Management
Unfortunately, life sometimes deals us a bad hand. Chronic pain is one of those unwanted situations. Certain conditions lend themselves to chronic pain. Examples include: arthritis, autoimmune disorders, and fibromyalgia. Chiropractic care may provide an important aspect to your overall strategy for managing and reducing symptoms.
Workplace Ergonomic Evaluations
Just like choosing a good mattress (where you will spend 1/3 of your life!) it is just as important to consider work place factor, since approximately another 1/3 of your life will be spent on the job. Carpal tunnel syndrome is not the only disorder that you risk developing at work. Two recent studies of insurance claims show that the combined cost of cumulative trauma disorders, such as repetitive motion injuries and low back pain, is over 11.5 billion annually. Good workplace ergonomics can save companies thousands of dollars, and not to mention save your health.
Extremity Manipulation
Many people don’t realize that chiropractors can also adjust ribs, collar bones, shoulder blades, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles, and feet. Adjusting non-spinal joints play an important role in proper joint function.
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger points are tender nodules in the muscle, and with specific techniques, the trigger points can be eliminated. Trigger points can cause local pain, as well as radiate pain to other sites not even near the trigger point.
Traction
Traction is a time-honored way to aid in spinal decompression. It is a good complement to the services because it provides rebalancing force in a way that isn’t easily applied by hand. Over time, your spine naturally becomes compressed, even if you’re doing nothing more than walking. Without an effective way to decompress, your spine becomes compacted, causing pain and loss of flexibility. A chiropractor can help significantly with adjustments, but traction is a more effective way to achieve direct spinal decompression. When combined with treatment, traction can: Permanently decrease back pain, neck pain, and headaches/migraines, create long-term improvement in spinal alignment, and enable proper spinal biomechanics.
Biochemical Analysis
This analysis is designed to answer, “What is CAUSING your problem?” Determining a source is vital to creating a long-term solution. Evaluations often reveal minor issues that may become significant problems over time.
Consultations
We review your health complaint and discuss our procedures and methods. Our primary goals are to answer your questions and to determine if chiropractic care is your best course of treatment.
Second Opinions
Occasionally, patients encounter health information with which they are uncomfortable. In order to help patients make the best healthcare decision, we will perform requested evaluations of assessments from other healthcare providers (M.D., D.O., or D.C.) We may be able to provide a different perspective.
Nutritional & Dietary Guidance
Fortunately, we live in a country that offers food a choice from every continent, however, the unfortunate truth is that many of our choices are biased from large corporate mass media marketing campaigns that advertise stripped down and processed foods. The Standard American Diet (SAD) is a contributory factor to a host of diseases. Let us help you wade through the complex marketing to give you, your family, and your friends healthy eating options. We offer nutritional consults to help you optimize your health.
Kinesio Taping
Myofascial Taping uses a stretch, cotton tape with adhesive to help with sports and other inflammatory injuries. This tape allows protection and healing without overly restricting movement.
Rehabilitation Exercises
These exercises are specifically designed for you and your needs. They will help decrease compressive forces on the spine and help you develop quality motor control of your entire body. These exercises are excellent for the young, old, and even athletes.
Custom Orthotics
With the vast array of shoe choices, and many of those choices based on fashion trends, it’s no wonder why people have problems with their feet. The foot and ankle contain 28 bones with 55 articulations. Our doctors have received special training for adjusting the foot and to specifically find the right orthotic that meets your needs.
Active Release Technique
Active Release Techniques, or ART, is a healing method focused on relieving tension in soft tissues, including muscles, ligaments, tendons, fascia, and nerves. This treatment is appropriate for most active people, especially athletes hoping to enhance their sports performance.
If you have muscle weakness and poor flexibility, or you experience aching, numbness, tingling, or burning sensations, ART could be helpful for you, especially if your discomfort is caused by repetitive strain and overuse.
Specific conditions that ART can treat include: Muscle strain, Carpal tunnel syndrome, Trigger finger, Tendon disorders, Limited hamstring flexibility, and Many others.
When implementing Active Release Techniques, a massage therapist applies compressive, tensile, and shear forces to the affected area by hand. The goal of an ART massage is to restore full motion between the muscles, release any entrapped nerves, and reestablish the optimal texture and function of all soft tissues.
LLLT (Low Level Light Therapy)
We have one of the most advanced low level light therapy products on the market. It has the amazing capability to reach 5 inches below the tissue. This type of therapy works by improving and accelerating the cells capacity to make ATP, the energy source of the cell.
Ultrasound Therapy
Ultrasound can be a very effective form of therapy for a variety of conditions. Ultrasound works by penetrating deep into the tissue and gently warms it to a more healthy state. This improves circulation as well as the speed of healing.
Digital Imaging (X-Rays)
The reason that x-rays are used in certain cases is if it is required to properly diagnose a condition. They provide vital information that can help both the chiropractor and the patient. Chiropractors are able to treat a condition more effectively if they have x-ray results. It is also required if typical assessments are not conclusive or to eliminate pathology possibilities. X-rays may also help chiropractors find out the exact area that is in need of spinal readjustment. While it is not common practice to undergo an x-ray immediately, some chiropractors will ask for this if the condition in undetermined or if symptoms have not eased after several weeks.
Activator Method Chiropractic Technique
This service provides a mechanical force manual assisted treatment that is more precise and more comfortable than some other chiropractic treatments.
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) (Graston)– The Graston Technique is a patented form of manual therapy that uses stainless steel tools to perform muscle mobilizations. It is a kind of soft tissue mobilization used mainly by chiropractors, osteopathic physicians, physical therapists/physiotherapists, and occupational therapists.
How does it work?
You can think of the Graston Technique as a deeper, more intense version of manual therapy. Specially trained clinicians use specially designed Graston tools in two ways. First, to locate muscle knots or restrictions. They do this by running the tools over your skin to feel for fibrous or scar tissue that may be causing you pain or restricting your movement. Second, they use the tools to break up that tissue to restore mobility and function
